Community Gears Up for Summer Commencement 2025

Final preparations are underway at Wentworth Institute of Technology as the university gets ready to celebrate the achievements of more than 560 graduates—including 15 military veterans—at its Summer Commencement ceremonies on Thursday, August 14.
The day will feature two separate ceremonies, both held on campus and available to view via livestream. The morning ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. and will honor students from the School of Engineering. The afternoon ceremony starts at 3:00 p.m. for graduates of the Schools of Architecture & Design, Computing & Data Science, Management, and Science & Humanities. Both events are expected to last approximately 90 minutes and will be followed by a reception on the Quad for photos and refreshments.
Distinguished Keynote Speakers
This year's commencement will feature two accomplished keynote speakers.
Michael J. Carragher, President and CEO of VHB, a leading engineering and design firm, will deliver the keynote address at the morning ceremony. An alumnus of Wentworth's Board of Trustees, Carragher is a respected leader in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry with a 25-year career that includes working on major infrastructure projects in Boston and other key U.S. cities.
Maya Rogers, President and CEO of the iconic video game brand Tetris, will address graduates at the afternoon ceremony. Rogers is a founding partner of the Blue Startups venture accelerator and a pivotal figure in the gaming and technology sectors. Under her leadership, Tetris has expanded into a global lifestyle brand, and she has championed sustainability and diversity through her work.
Student Speakers and Performers
The ceremonies will also feature inspiring speeches from two graduating students.
Vincent Rudolph, an Electrical Engineering major and former Wentworth Student Government President, will be the student speaker for the morning ceremony. Known for his commitment to student advocacy, Rudolph will share insights from his time at Wentworth, where he completed three co-ops with Draper Labs and will begin full-time employment as an Electrical Engineer in September.
Emma Conant, an Industrial Design major, will be the student speaker at the afternoon ceremony. Conant is the founder of EVERYBODY, a multi-award-winning, gender-inclusive swimwear brand she developed through Wentworth’s Accelerate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. She plans to launch the company publicly in September and is a member of Frauhaus, Industrial Designers for Diversity.
Both ceremonies will feature a performance of the national anthem by graduating Computer Information Systems student Alexa Matthews.
