Since 2000, Community + Learning Partnerships (CLP) has served as Wentworth's community engagement hub, focused on college access and success for Boston residents. Through CLP, Wentworth built its local impact by connecting the expertise of students, faculty, and staff with the needs of Boston’s neighborhoods, particularly through hands-on projects and programs that address community challenges. In 2011, the Boston Pipeline Initiative was launched under CLP, offering local youth early college exposure and pathways to technical education and career success. Now fully integrated into the Center for Culture and Community (CCC), CLP’s legacy continues through collaborative initiatives that support Boston Public School students and strengthen Wentworth’s commitment to inclusive, community-driven engagement.

Educate. Build. Transform.

Wentworth has a long-standing commitment to making a difference in our local communities. With a rich history of engaging its neighbors, the university strengthens “town/gown” relationships and builds lasting partnerships with community residents, organizations, and businesses. Through the College Access and Success wing of the Center for Culture and Community, Wentworth continues to provide prospective, current, and former students—as well as staff, faculty, and external partners—with meaningful early college opportunities and transformative, community-driven experiences.

The Boston Pipeline

Through our college access and success programming, Wentworth is dedicated to supporting Boston Public School students from nearby communities in building strong pathways to college and career success. As part of this commitment, the Boston Pipeline Initiative offers local youth a range of programs that provide valuable, hands-on experience in an early college environment.

RAMP: Summer Bridge Program

RAMP is a paid 7-week summer bridge program, sponsored by the Division for Inclusive Excellence, for incoming Wentworth students from the Greater Boston area. As part of the Boston Pipeline Initiative, RAMP plays a key role in our broader college access and success efforts by providing students with early exposure to college life, academic preparation, and professional development opportunities. This program is an important part of Wentworth’s commitment to improving outcomes for local residents by actively investing in the success of Boston youth. Through initiatives like RAMP, Wentworth strengthens its connection to the community, builds long-term partnerships, and helps create a more equitable and inclusive future for students in our city.

Beacon Pathway's and Wentworth's Early College Programming

Beacon Pathways (Beacon), Wentworth's Early College Pathways Program, is an innovative educational partnership between the City of Boston and Wentworth to introduce the college experience to high school students. The goal is to increase attendance, retention, and graduation rates of Boston youth by showing them that they can succeed in college and beyond.
