Please review Wentworth’s semester-based tuition proration schedule located below. After the add/drop period ends, all students who withdraw from Wentworth during the semester must complete the Voluntary Withdrawal Form located on My Wentworth. The completed form must be emailed to the Registrar’s Office at registrar@wit.edu

IMPORTANT: Non-attendance does not constitute withdrawal.  Students who register for classes but do not attend are fully responsible for any balance incurred. Tuition and fees will not be adjusted on the student’s account until the Registrar’s Office receives an official Voluntary Withdrawal Form from the student.

Involuntary Leave, Suspension or Dismissal

The proration policy does not apply to students asked to leave Wentworth involuntarily during an academic semester or term.   Students on interim suspensions, involuntary leave or dismissal are eligible for a prorated dining charge only, based on the last date of enrollment.

Questions about tuition prorations can be directed to the Student Accounts Office at 617-989-5043 or to studentaccounts@wit.edu

Residential Life

A resident who withdraws during the first four weeks of the semester will be eligible for a reduction of charges (less housing down-payment) in accordance with Wentworth policy. No adjustments will be made after the fourth week of the semester. Students living in upper-class residence halls can also request a change in their meal plan during the first four weeks of the semester. These changes must be made in writing and approved by the Office of Housing and Residential Life. No changes to meal plans will be made after the first four weeks of the semester.  Contact Residential Life & Housing for prorated amounts for room and meals.

The Tuition Proration policy is based on the terms in the Wentworth Academic Catalog

Financial Aid Funds

Federal financial aid funds are packaged to a student under the assumption that the student will attend school for the entire period for which the assistance is given. When a Federal financial aid student withdraws, the student may no longer be eligible for the full amount of Federal financial aid funds that the student was originally scheduled to receive.

Up through the 60% point in each semester, a pro rata schedule is used to determine the amount of Federal financial aid funds the student has earned at the time of withdrawal. After the 60% point of the semester, federal regulations affirm that a student has earned 100% of the Federal financial aid funds he or she was scheduled to receive during the semester. For a student who withdraws after the 60% point-in-time, all funds are earned.

If the recipient of a Federal grant or Federal loan withdraws from school after beginning attendance, the amount of the Federal grant or Federal loan assistance earned by the student must be determined. If the amount disbursed to the student is greater than the amount the student earned, unearned funds must be returned.

Visit the Financial Aid Withdrawal page for more information.
