Student Support & Programming
The CCC is committed to fostering a campus environment where every student feels supported, respected, and empowered to thrive. This page highlights key resources, policies, and programs designed to uphold our values of inclusion, equity, and student well-being. All of our programming is open to everyone. Whether you're seeking cultural or spiritual support, navigating identity-related matters, or addressing concerns about bias or discrimination, we’re here to help.
UMOJA
The Umoja Cultural Graduation Celebration provides an intimate setting that allows students to celebrate their achievements and the cultural communities to which they feel a sense of affinity and belonging. Participation is open to all, and we encourage everyone to come and celebrate together.
Spirituality and Religious Support

Wentworth Institute of Technology values the diverse spiritual and cultural identities of its students and supports religious and cultural observance. Students observing holidays that conflict with their class schedule are encouraged to discuss their absences with faculty in advance and consult the Student Absence Due to Religious Observance section in the Academic Catalog. A Holiday and Spiritual Observance Calendar is available for guidance. The Center for Diversity and Global Engagement (CDGE) also maintains a Prayer & Meditation Room in Beatty Hall (029), open for quiet spiritual reflection and equipped with meditation cushions, prayer rugs, and a foot sink for ablution. You can learn more about religious and spiritual observance and WIT here.
Gender Inclusion

Wentworth promotes gender inclusion through gender-inclusive housing options, single-user and all-gender restrooms across campus, and inclusive policies allowing students to participate in activities that align with their gender identity. Students may also designate a preferred name for use in campus systems, student IDs, and communications, which supports individuals with names that differ from their legal names for personal, cultural, or identity-related reasons.
Health & Wellness

Mental health is a vital part of student success and overall well-being. At Wentworth, we believe that a healthy mind supports academic achievement, personal growth, and meaningful connection within our community. We encourage students to prioritize their mental health and seek support when needed—because well-being is the foundation for thriving both in and out of the classroom. Please visit the Center for Wellness for more information and guidance.
Discrimination and Harassament

Wentworth is committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive campus by addressing incidents of discrimination, harassment, or bias. The university encourages students, faculty, and staff to report such incidents, which are promptly and impartially investigated by the Executive Director of Equity and Compliance, Catlin Wells, M.Ed., J.D. (wellsc1@wit.edu | 617-989-4119), and disciplinary action may follow based on the outcome. Wentworth also reserves the right to investigate incidents even without a formal complaint and complies with all federal and state laws prohibiting discrimination based on characteristics such as race, religion, gender identity or expression, disability, and more. Anyone who believes they have experienced unlawful discrimination or harassment is encouraged to contact Catlin Wells to initiate a civil rights complaint. You can learn more by visiting the Office of Institutional Equity webpage.
