Signature Events
The Center for Wellness offers a series of signature events, including workshops, trainings, and groups.
I <3 Art
Create art with us! Art can have a positive impact on your mental health and it can build community. You do not have to be a “perfect” artist to get the benefits.
Groups & Workshops
Participating in a therapeutic group can be a helpful resource for students to use both as a stand-alone tool for support, or as an adjunct to individual therapy. Not only will you have the ear of a trained therapist and counselor, but you’ll have an opportunity to connect with peers and form new relationships, provide and receive support to/from others, and discover that you are not alone.
Skills to Chill
A weekly DBT group, where you can connect with others and learn how to find your inner “chill”. The group will cover the 4 modules of DBT: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. Sessions will be psychoeducational and interactive. Participants will also get an opportunity to bring their current challenges to the group, get feedback from the group, and learn how to apply DBT skills to manage these challenges.
Each session builds upon the previous one. Attending all sessions is highly recommended but NOT required.
However, all participants must still complete the registration form below.

Wellness Trainings
There are wellness training opportunities throughout the year. Individuals learn the skills they need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be experiencing a mental health challenge.
Mental Health First Aid Certification
The Center for Wellness offers Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certification trainings throughout the year separately for faculty & staff, and for students. MHFA is a nationally recognized course that teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges. The MHFA program was designed to help decrease stigma around mental health challenges and give participants the tools they need to address tough situations and support those around them.
The course covers:
- Common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges
- How to interact with a person in crisis
- How to connect a person to help
- Expanded content on trauma, substance use and self-care
MHFA is an 8-hour course offered over two 4-hour sessions and held in person on the WIT campus. Upon completion of the course, participants will be nationally certified in Mental Health First Aid, valid for 3 years! While the training is valued at $170, it is free of charge for participants thanks to having Wentworth staff who are certified MHFA instructors.
Please complete the form below to join our MHFA interest list and you will receive notifications about upcoming trainings.

OneWIT
The Center for Wellness offers OneWIT, a student support leadership training course at various times throughout the year. OneWIT is designed to equip students with the skills and confidence to identify when a fellow student might be experiencing a mental health challenge, reach out to them, and offer beneficial support.
OneWIT is a 6-hour course, split into six weekly 1-hour sessions, held in person at the Center for Wellness. Participants must attend all 6 sessions to complete the course.
Sign-ups for OneWIT were due by September 8th. If you're interested in updates about future sessions, please use the sign-up form below to be added to our interest mailing list:
One Love
Most of us were never explicitly taught about what a healthy friendship or romantic relationship looks like. This four-part workshop training series will help you build the skills to recognize the signs and respond in ways that keep you and your peers safe across all types of relationships. The following workshops will be offered:
Escalation
Follow the story of Chase and Paige as their relationship goes from new and fun to unhealthy behaviors that escalate into abuse. See the early signs of relationship abuse and discuss how Chase and Paige’s relationship might have gone differently.
Behind the Post
Billions of photos are posted to social media every day, but you can’t always see the big picture through the small ones, especially when it comes to unhealthy relationships. Social media can skew out view of relationships and influence our decision to stay in unhealthy ones.
MVP
Miles tries to balance his basketball life with the possessive demands of his girlfriend, Jess. This course challenges traditional stereotypes about who is affected by relationship abuse.
Road Trip
After a one-sided breakup, Aladi wants to fix his relationship with Raven, but his best friend, Mo, just wants to go to Comic-Con. This course focuses on masculinity, digital communication and how to help a friend in an unhealthy relationship.
*Attend Escalation workshop, get a One Love wristband
*Attend all four sessions, choose between a Nike Hoodie or Stanley Tumbler
