Wentworth Institute of Technology expects all members of its community to comply with U.S. copyright laws, and refers all users of its technological and information resources to the Responsible Use of Information Resources Policy and the description of copyright law included therein that governs the use of these resources. The use of Wentworth information resources including but not limited to networks, emails, and web publishing is a privilege granted by Wentworth to members of its community or related parties. It is not a right, and the privilege is contingent upon compliance with Institute policies. Pursuant to Institute policy, users of these resources who violate copyright laws may be subject to disciplinary action, including but not limited to loss of access to Institute computers, computer networks, data, and other technological and information resources, warning, suspension and separation from the Institute

Privacy Statement
This Privacy Policy discloses the privacy practices for WIT.edu and for all subdomains of WIT.edu, and for content using other electronic media hosted or generated by Wentworth Institute of Technology, subject to the individual privacy practices of third-parties whose services Wentworth Institute of Technology may be using.
What information do we gather about you?
We collect information from you when you access WIT.edu and when you subscribe to our email service. Specifically, by placing a cookie in the visitor’s browser, Wentworth’s website captures visitor data in three primary areas:

- Behavioral (origin URL, page views, time on page, clicks, downloads, etc.)
- Personally identifiable (name, email, phone, company, title, etc.)
What do we use your information for?
We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website by identifying (1) which parts of our site are most heavily used, and (2) which portion of our audience comes from within the WIT network. We receive and may store any information you enter on our website or give us in any other way. We may use this information to personalize your experience with WIT.edu. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our features. Device Information Collected By Us
We may collect information about the computer, mobile device or other device you use to access WIT.edu, such as IP address, geolocation information, unique device identifiers, browser type, browser language or other information of this nature. We use this information in an aggregate fashion to track access to WIT.edu. We do not disclose site usage by individual IP addresses. Web server logs are retained on a temporary basis and then deleted from our systems.
Cookies
Cookies are small files that are stored on your computer (unless you block them). We use cookies to understand and save your preferences for future visits and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in better understanding our site visitors. Wentworth may use Google services to deliver and monitor our advertising campaigns which may, in turn, use cookies to help us serve and manage ads across the internet. Emailing Wentworth
If you send us email messages, you should be aware that information disclosed in email may not be secure or encrypted and thus may be available to others. We suggest that you exercise caution when deciding to disclose any personal or confidential information in email. We will use your email address to respond directly to your questions or comments.
Email Policy
We will not share, sell, rent, swap or authorize any third party to use your email address for commercial purposes without your permission.
User Generated Content (Including Comments and Profiles)
We offer opportunities for you to engage with Wentworth via WIT.edu, including submitting comments and replies on selected news stories. Any information you disclose in your submission of comments, including name, email, website, and the comment itself is property of Wentworth Institute of Technology and visible on internal servers. Additionally, information regarding name and comments shall be public on Wentworth WIT.edu website once a comment or reply is approved for submission on the website. Comments are up to the discretion and approval of Institute moderators.
If you choose to use the Institute’s mobile sites and applications, any of the features of these sites, including but not limited to RSS, API, software and other downloads (collectively, "the Services"), you will be agreeing to abide by all of the terms and conditions of these Terms of Service between you and Wentworth Institute of Technology (“us" or "we").
Wentworth Institute of Technology reserves the right to reject or remove thereafter any content from appearing on its site that does not meet its user generated content policy.
User Generated Content Terms of Use
You shall not upload to, or distribute or otherwise publish on to the WIT.edu website any libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, abusive, or otherwise illegal material; any comment deemed to contain any of the above. You agree that you will not deliberately disrupt discussions with repetitive messages, meaningless messages or "spam.” You agree not to use language that abuses or discriminates on the basis of race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual preference, age, region, disability, or other federal or state protected classification. You may not impersonate another user or a Wentworth staff member by choosing a similar screen name. You must disclose conflicts of interest. Any comments deemed containing the above will not be approved for distribution or, if approved, will removed thereafter.
You acknowledge that any submissions you make to the WIT.edu website (i.e., user-generated comments (each, a "Submission") may be edited, removed, modified, published, and displayed on the WIT.edu website and you waive any rights you may have in having the material altered or changed in a manner not agreeable to you. Submissions made to the WIT.edu website may also be included in Wentworth’s RSS feeds, APIs and made available for republishing through other formats.
Wentworth Institute of Technology reserves the right to delete, move, or edit Submissions that it deems abusive, defamatory, obscene, in violation of copyright or trademark laws, or otherwise unacceptable.
By making a Submission, you are consenting to its display and publication on the Site and in the Services and for related online uses.
When you share or recommend (with or without adding your own comments) any articles or content from the WIT.edu website to your Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ profile, that action is governed by their respective Privacy Policies.
Information Protection
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the appropriate use of information we gather about you, we have taken commercially reasonable steps to protect the information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure.
Changes to this Policy
This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time. Any such changes will be posted on this page. The effective date of this policy was October 6, 2016.
