Before or after every meeting with software engineers and managers at AVTECH, Jade Aboud Siriani would conduct further research to help himself catch up with the discussion.

“I have to understand all aspects of the communication, the coding and all the details,” he says. “I know the company’s number-one product relies on my work.”

Siriani is a junior in the Computer Engineering program. AVTECH produces environment monitors protecting areas like computer rooms, data centers and warehouses from the fluctuation of temperature and humidity.

During the National Conference on Student Leadership in Orlando this November, Wentworth senior Jasmine Andrade spoke of her experience leading multiple student organizations as a voice of underrepresented students.

An Interdisciplinary Engineering student, Andrade is the co-founder of Wentworth’s Cape Verdean Student Association. She was formerly the vice president of the Multicultural Student Association and a collegiate member of the National Society of Black Engineers.

Allison Lange, a Wentworth Institute of Technology assistant professor and leading expert on the suffrage movement and 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, appears in a new PBS film chronicling Wyoming’s place as the first state to provide women access to the vote.

Once again, Boston officials are turning to Wentworth Institute of Technology’s students and faculty to reimagine the use of City property—this time underused and inhospitable areas of the John D. O’Bryant School complex in Roxbury.

Tournament most valuable player senior Georgy Gorodetsky assisted on a pair of goals and 11 other skaters recorded at least one point as the Wentworth Institute of Technology ice hockey team captured the Manchester PAL/Stovepipe Tournament title with a 6-1 win over SUNY Morrisville.

Jakub Bzura looks at a Tesla on the road a little differently than most.

“My instinct is to check the panel gaps and look for serial numbers to see if I remember any of them,” he says.

Bzura, a senior Mechanical Engineering student, conducted his first co-op with Tesla in Fremont, California this past spring and he is currently on his second co-op at the Tesla in Reno, Nevada.

As a quality engineer in Fremont, Bzura was asked to find, analyze, and reduce the deviations of different parts of a car that might significantly influence the assembly.

Video games have been a part of the mainstream culture for some time, with even sports network ESPN broadcasting competitive gaming competitions. But gaming is increasingly finding a home within the higher education, used as a teaching tool within the classroom.

Wentworth’s Department of Interior Design won the “Best School Entry” at the 2019 International Interior Design Association (IIDA) New England Fashion Show.

Students created a costume design utilizing interior materials in an effort to demonstrate creativity and craftsmanship.

IIDA has more than 12,000 Members in nine specialty Forums in 30 Chapters around the world. The event is one of the largest interior design competitions for design firms and schools in New England. More than 800 people were in attendance.

Wentworth Institute of Technology marked Veterans Day 2019 with a Nov. 7 ribbon-cutting for a lounge and study space for ROTC and Veteran-students, and a luncheon that drew some 150 attendees to Watson auditorium—including alumni who served in the military, current service-affiliated students, and corporate sponsors of support programs for Veterans and active military personnel.

President Mark A. Thompson, Ph.D., said the new Willson Hall Veterans space highlights an enduring commitment by Wentworth to support military affiliated students at the university.

The Wentworth Athletics community partnered this past week with the Special Olympians of Boston Public Schools for a one-day soccer clinic hosted at Sweeney Field.

Throughout the day, Wentworth student-athletes worked together while demonstrating leadership and comprehensive learning to a group of 30 Special Olympians through passing drills, scrimmages, and shooting challenges.

Wentworth was named to the Princeton Review's Guide to Green Colleges for the fourth year in a row. The inclusion makes the university one of the nation's most environmentally responsible institutions, according to the publication.

Wentworth Institute of Technology has inaugurated the fifth president in its 115-year history—the school’s first chief executive from outside of the engineering industry.

In his Oct. 18 inauguration address, Mark A. Thompson, Ph. D., an economist, highlighted four key focus areas for the university and said strategic planning and progress will demand equal participation from all sectors of the Wentworth community.

Good morning and welcome.

For many students, tuition costs remain an insurmountable barrier to higher education. Wentworth Institute of Technology President Mark A. Thompson, Ph.D., says he wants to help those students with a $10 million scholarship matching challenge called ASAP—for Advancing Student Access and Potential. Thompson announced the initiative at a dinner the evening before his Oct. 18 inauguration as Wentworth’s fifth president.
