University Announces New Scholarships for Graduate Education

Wentworth hall

Beginning this fall, Wentworth Institute of Technology will be offering four new scholarships for graduate-level education.

Created to acknowledge the achievements of Wentworth alumni inside and outside of the classroom, and to foster the university’s commitment to inclusive excellence, the scholarships will cover up to 20 percent of the cost of tuition and fees for all qualifying graduate degrees and graduate certificates.

“Wentworth already offers a highly competitive education from a cost standpoint,” said Durga Suresh-Menon, special assistant to the provost for graduate programs at Wentworth. “This is our way of offering a fantastic growth opportunity for professionals—and maybe lifelong learners— at an even more affordable rate.”

Each of the scholarships carry a value of up to $6,400 for the 2020-2021 academic year and cannot be combined with one another or with other offers.

The Alumni Excellence Scholarship helps Wentworth alumni finance their graduate education. Alumni with a 3.5 undergraduate GPA and above will automatically qualify for a tuition scholarship of up to 20 percent. For alumni who do not meet that GPA criteria, other factors will be considered.

The Alumni Impact Scholarship will help Wentworth alumni who have amassed significant professional accomplishments. Examples are impactful positions in the community or starting a business that supports underrepresented populations. This scholarship will help with a tuition scholarship of up to 20 percent.

The Women’s Leadership Award will help prospective students who are women and leaders in their fields with a tuition scholarship of up to 20 percent. These awards will be based on GPA and professional experience and accomplishments.

The Diversity Scholarship supports prospective students of color and from underrepresented populations with a tuition scholarship of up to 20 percent.
