The 2023 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Climate Survey

2023 Climate Survey: March 13th-April 13th, Donate and Win Prizes! Donate to charitable organizations and complete the survey for your chance to win an Apple iPad!

As part of our new strategic plan goal around Inclusive Excellence, Wentworth partnered with the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS) to implement a campus climate survey focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion. We last completed this survey in 2020. To track our progress and get a sense of our environment, we have partnered with HEDS once again and are pleased to announce Wentworth will be administering a 2023 Climate Survey. This survey will launch on March 13th and will be available for all members of the Wentworth community. You will be able to access the survey via the MyWentworth app, flyers around campus, and emails from the President's office and the office of DEI. If you have questions, please refer to the infographic below (available in both English and Spanish) and stay tuned for more information!

2023 Diversity Climate Survey Donation Drive and Apple iPad Raffle!

To generate excitement around the Diversity Climate Survey, we have a number of small events planned throughout the course of the next month (March 13th - April 13th). Upon completion of the survey, you will be automatically entered into a drawing for a chance to win an Apple iPad! To maintain your anonymity, the survey will generate a code for you that Wentworth will not see, but will be informed of by HEDS. There will be 1 faculty/staff winner and 1 student winner!

In addition to the raffle, we are also pleased to announce that we will be hosting a donation drive as part of the Diversity Climate Survey! Upon completion of the survey, you will be asked to choose 1 of 6 organizations to donate to. When the survey comes to a close on April 13th, Wentworth will tally the total number of times that each organization was chosen; Then, we will donate $2 per person to that organization!

Below is a list of the organizations in the Donation Drive!

Q: When was the last time the DEI Campus Climate Survey was administered?

A: The DEI Survey was first administered in 2020 as part of our new strategic plan goal around Inclusive Excellence. 489 students and 364 employees completed the 2020 survey.

    Q: Who administers it?

A: Wentworth partnered with the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS) to implement a campus survey focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion. This organization is a well-established survey vendor for higher education offering reliable, validated survey instruments administered in cohorts to enable institutional comparison.

Q: Where can I access the survey?

A: Check your email and the Wentworth website

Q: When will it be administered?

    A: March 13-April 13th

    Q: Who is the audience?

A: Students, faculty, and staff. The survey will also be accessible in Spanish.

Q: I am surveyed out! Why are there two surveys (Student Satisfaction Survey) being administered so close together?

A: Pre-pandemic, Wentworth was on a cycle of administering each of these two surveys every two years. The 2020 administration of the student satisfaction inventory was canceled due to COVID-19. We’re now administering both surveys in the same semester to catch up on our understanding of the Wentworth community’s perceptions. Running these surveys this spring also allows us to participate in syndicates with other universities, enabling us to compare ourselves to other schools to understand larger trends and where Wentworth stands out.

    Q: Why is it important?

A: The information provided in the survey will give us a deeper understanding of our strengths while identifying areas of improvement related to DE&I. The findings of this survey will guide current and future policies, programs, and practices on campus.

Q: How will results be analyzed & shared?

A: The Climate Survey report will be shared by HEDS in the summer. When reports are available, we will share them with the university community and determine what actions to take in response.
