At 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, Wentworth Institute of Technology filed its new Institutional Master Plan with the City of Boston.

By 4 p.m., Wentworth Chief of Staff Erik Cote was on the phone answering reporter questions.

Twenty-four hours later, news of our plan has appeared in major Boston media, including the Boston Globe and two trade publications, Boston Business Journal and Banker & Tradesman. WBZ radio and Boston.com also picked up the story.

Most of the coverage has focused on our plans to offer additional and improved residential experiences for our students, the reduction of housing demand on surrounding neighborhoods, and the new green spaces we are creating in the middle of the city. Our new academic buildings were also highlighted, reflecting, as Cote told the Boston Globe, “our ambitions as an institution, and our confidence in the programs we offer, and the investments we’re making.”
