“I came to Wentworth because of students like you and I am eager to help continue the tradition of excellence that you all personify,” said Maggelakis.

Pascal spent 30 years at Wentworth, building strong relationships with neighborhood community groups and establishing the university's first community taskforce. She also created what would become the Center for Community Learning Partnerships as well as the Office of Community Relations.
“True progress…results from holding in balance the mechanistic and the humanistic, pushing forward science & technology whilst equally allowing yourselves to live a life of service, compassion, generosity, and selfless leadership.” -- Morning keynote speaker Travis McCready, executive director and national practice leader for Jones Lang Lasalle’s Life Sciences Industry Practice
“Don’t just be dreamers. Also be doers. To have great accomplishments and make consequential progress we must turn dreams into action and apply a unique level of hard work.” -- Afternoon keynote speaker Timothy Wall, chair and chief executive officer of CDM Smith
Honorary degree recipient in the afternoon, Stephen Fusi, Mechanical Engineering ’74, brought more than 30 years of industry-related experience to New Wealth Advisors, LLC as chief investment officer and senior portfolio manager. He has also been a member of Wentworth’s Board of Trustees since 2009, was directly responsible for bringing the WIRE Radio Station to campus, and continues to work with a host of other nonprofits including MASCO and Colleges of the Fenway.
Morning student speaker Nicole Thackaberry, Interior Design, told her classmates that “the lessons you have shared and the words you have spoken will be remembered far beyond these campus walls.”
Afternoon student speaker Andrew Croteau, Mechanical Engineering, told the audience that engineers are complex individuals. “We are 3D Printed,” he said, “composed of layers upon layers of hands-on learning filament held together with crossing lines of teamwork infill, and stuck to the build plate of a desire to change the world.”
