Wentworth Institute of Technology has been recognized by Forbes as one of the "15 Top Colleges for Launching Your Career," highlighting the university’s distinctive hands-on approach and the enduring success of its cooperative education program.

In its profile of the university, Forbes noted Wentworth’s focus on practical experience, specifically celebrating the 50th anniversary of its co-op program. Unlike many peer institutions, Wentworth requires all undergraduate students to complete two full semesters of co-op work. By utilizing summer semesters for coursework, students are able to gain a full year of professional experience while still graduating in four years.

The article emphasizes the tangible return on investment for Wentworth graduates, noting that 73% of students secure employment within six months of graduation with a median salary of $80,800 three years after graduation.

Forbes also highlighted the university's support for student innovation. Students with entrepreneurial ambitions can fulfill co-op requirements by launching their own startups. The university supports these ventures with up to $9,000 to replace lost wages and an additional $2,500 for materials during the semester-long program.

Forbes praised Wentworth’s "unusual hands-on practical approach" as a key factor in its ranking at No. 328 on the publication's overall list of top colleges in the nation.
