The famed Huntington Theatre in Boston has undergone an extensive renovation, and the public will get to hear all about it through an exclusive tour Thursday provided by Wentworth Institute of Technology alumna Nurit Zuker.

Zuker, Architecture ’02, is Senior Associate at Bruner/Cott Architects, the team that transformed the theater to increase its capacity for meaningful public engagement and the vibrant exchange of ideas through the performance arts.

According to the listing at Architects.org, Bruner/Cott wanted to “acknowledge [The Huntington’s] historic past, but also elevate the place into a contemporary performing arts venue” through a series of “thoughtful design interventions such as reclaiming original façade character, drawing attention to a new marquee, embracing the uniqueness of the original auditorium, and weaving the modern architecture and interiors that enable new experiences and technical support.”

Zuker and Bruner/Cott Operations Associate Esther Daube-Valois will lead a 45-minute behind-the-scenes tour at 5:30pm on July 11 followed by a Q&A session. The event is free and open to the public.

Since joining Bruner/Cott in 2004, Nurit has been the project manager of several award-winning projects including two student centers at Vanderbilt University, the Smith Campus Center at Harvard University, the Powerhouse at Amherst College, and Boston’s Huntington Theatre. She is married to fellow Wentworth alum Jason Jewhurst, Architecture ’02.
