Academic Support and Tutoring

The Success Studio offers a variety of ways to visit tutoring. Scroll down to learn more about 1-on-1 Appointment Tutoring, Drop-In Group Sessions, and Tutor.com.

Note: Success Studio tutoring services will run as normal on Wellbeing Day, Tuesday, October 6th.

Appointment Tutoring

Schedule one-on-one appointments throughout the Fall 2026 semester at EAB Navigate by clicking on "Schedule Appointment" then selecting "Academic Support-Tutoring". Tutoring will commence on the first day of classes, September 8th.

Students are allowed to schedule up to 1 hour of tutoring per course per day. Appointments are available from 9 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday, with the exception of university holidays. Students can schedule an in-person appointment in Beatty 302 or an online appointment. For online appointments, students will receive an email confirmation with a Zoom link after they schedule the appointment.

If you do not see a course or skill you would like tutoring for listed in EAB Navigate, let us know by submitting a help request form. We will always try to find a tutor for any course on campus, if possible.

Drop-in Group Sessions

Weekly drop-in group tutoring sessions will begin on the week of Monday, September 14th, 2026. You can stop by at any time during the listed times for help from tutors. No appointment is required.

Tutor.com

Tutor.com is a 24/7 on-demand online tutoring service. This service may be especially helpful at nights and weekends when Success Studio tutoring is typically not available. You can find a list of Wentworth courses supported by Tutor.com tutoring below.

To access Tutor.com, go to your Brightspace homepage, select the “Help” tab, and select “Tutor.com.” From the Tutor.com homepage, select “Connect with a Tutor Now.” You will be quickly connected with a tutor who has been vetted for content expertise.

Note that Tutor.com tutors are not affiliated with Wentworth. A transcript of your session will be recorded. Content-based tutoring through Tutor.com is not available for every Wentworth course.

We recommend that you seek help through Success Studio appointments or review sessions first and use Tutor.com as a back-up option.

In addition to 24-7 online tutoring, Tutor.com offers AI learning tools for select subjects. We recommend using these tools as a complement to live tutoring in the Success Studio or Tutor.com. Always check your instructor's academic integrity policy to make sure assistance from these tools is allowed on an assignment. • This chatbot will lead a discussion with you to promote your understanding. 
• It is available for the following subjects:

AI Essay Feedback

• You can use the AI Essay Feedback tool to get feedback about a draft of your writing. We recommend using this tool as a way to prepare for a meeting with a tutor or instructor about your draft. 

Guidance for AI Tools in Tutor.com

AI Tools in Tutor.com (Ask Leo and AI Essay Feedback) are designed to build your independent understanding of course content and skills. These tools are meant to complement Success Studio peer and professional tutoring services.

Note that any AI tool can give inaccurate information.

You must follow your instructor’s academic integrity rules when receiving assistance on an assignment. If you are unsure whether Tutor.com AI tools are allowed for an assignment, check with your instructor before use. 

Success Studio staff can access records and transcripts of your interactions with Tutor.com AI tools.

Do not provide any personal or identifying information about yourself in your AI inputs (name, contact information, grades, etc.) Tutor.com uses OpenAI to support its AI tools but will not share any personal identifying information with OpenAI.

How to Get The Most Out of a Tutoring Session

Following these recommendations will help you get the most impact from your tutoring sessions.

Before

• Set a learning goal.
• Review the content ahead of time.
• Bring your notes, computer, and course materials.

During

• Expect the tutor to ask questions to guide the session.
• Ask questions and share your thought processes.
• Expect the session to feel like a conversation, not a lecture.

After

• Attempt to apply what you learned on your own.
• Schedule follow-up tutoring visits as needed!
