Wentworth Hosts State Dignitaries for Infrastructure Event

Former Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis among those who spoke

Wentworth Institute of Technology played host to current and past state legislature for the Infrastructure Luncheon on March 14. 

Wentworth School of Management Professor Emeritus and current Massachusetts Department of Transportation Board Member Ilyas Bhatti moderated the event, which looked at the state of local infrastructure and upcoming plans to address needs within the area. 

Wentworth President Mark A. Thompson welcomed dignitaries to the event with former Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis delivering opening remarks. 

Monica Tibbits-Nutt, secretary of transportation/CEO of MassDOT, spoke about transportation priorities, while Phil Eng, MBTA general manager, presented on fixing our public transportation system. Director of Capital Project Lucianna Burdi provided an update on MassPort projects. 

A discussion including Wentworth Board of Trustees Chair Gregory Janey and School of Management Dean John Cribbs and others followed.
