Wentworth Expands Transfer Pathways with MassBay, Roxbury Agreements

a lightbulb next to the word 'opportunity'

Wentworth Institute of Technology is strengthening its commitment to accessible education and opportunity by establishing two new articulation agreements with Massachusetts Bay Community College (MassBay) and Roxbury Community College (RCC). These agreements streamline the transfer process for community college students seeking bachelor's degrees in STEM fields.

MassBay Community College Agreement

MassBay students who earn their associate degree in electrical, computer, or mechanical engineering can now easily transfer to Wentworth to complete their bachelor's in the same field.

Key features of the MassBay agreement include:

  • Guaranteed Admission: MassBay graduates with a minimum 2.5 GPA and an Associate of Science degree in the specified programs are guaranteed admission to Wentworth.

  • Credit Transfer: Wentworth will accept up to 50% of the total required credits toward the bachelor's degree.

  • Collaboration: The institutions will collaborate on publicity, recruitment, and advising to support student success.

Roxbury Community College Agreement

This agreement provides a pathway for RCC students with an Associate of Science in Information Systems Technology to transfer to Wentworth's Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program.

Key features of the RCC agreement include:

  • Specific Course Mapping: Clearly outlines which RCC courses will transfer to Wentworth.

  • Combined BS/MS Pathway: Provides an opportunity for eligible students to pursue an accelerated Master of Science in Data Science.

  • Reverse Articulation: Allows students who transfer to Wentworth before completing their associate degree at RCC to apply credits earned at Wentworth toward their RCC degree.

"We recognize the value of community college education and are committed to providing a seamless transition for students seeking to further their academic and career goals,” said Wentworth’s Director of Transfer and Part-Time Admissions Kiera Mahoney.

Wentworth encourages all eligible students to explore these new transfer opportunities and take the next step in their STEM education journey. More information can be found on the Wentworth website.
