New Video Highlights the Vision for the First-Year Tower
Construction on the First-Year Tower at Wentworth Institute of Technology is officially underway, and a new video offers a closer look at what the project means for the campus community.
Set to open in 2028, the 18-story, fully electric residence hall will bring the entire first-year residential class together under one roof. Featuring remarks from university leadership, alumni, and community partners, the video highlights how this 240,000-square-foot, Passive House-standard building is designed to foster connection from a student's very first day.
True to Wentworth’s focus on practical, hands-on learning, the construction process itself is an active professional environment. As noted in the video, 100 percent of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers working on the project are Wentworth alumni. Current students are also working on-site alongside professional teams through co-ops, gaining real-world experience as they help construct a central piece of the university's future.
