D'Agostino Named Inaugural CMAA New England Educator of the Year

Michael J. D'Agostino has been named the inaugural Educator of the Year by the New England chapter of the Construction Management Association of America. The award was presented at the chapter's Mark H. Hasso Project Excellence and Scholarship Awards Program, its annual ceremony recognizing projects, professionals, and students across the region. 

D'Agostino is the Construction Management Program Administrator in Wentworth Institute of Technology's School of Management. The chapter also awarded scholarships to two Wentworth construction management students, Melanie Chaves and Samuel Machado. 

"This recognition is not just a reflection of my work, but also of the incredible students, alumni, colleagues, and industry partners who have supported me throughout my career," D'Agostino shared on LinkedIn.  

The award carries a particular resonance. CMAA New England's annual ceremony is named for Mark Hasso, a Wentworth professor of construction management for more than 30 years and a founding board member of the chapter, who died in 2020. D'Agostino worked closely with Hasso early in his Wentworth career and eventually took over his role with CMAA New England and with the Construction Management Club. 

D'Agostino is marking his 20th year at Wentworth. He earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Construction Management from the university, and advises the CM Club, co-teaches the undergraduate senior project course, and serves on the executive committee of the Wentworth Alumni Association. 

"The CM Club has been especially meaningful," he wrote, reflecting on two decades at the university. "Working with and mentoring such driven, talented students and watching them grow into leaders has been the best part of my 20."
