All Commencement Ceremonies Moved to Saturday Due to Incoming Storm

Based on the forecast announced this morning that Tropical Storm Henri will likely become a Category 1 Hurricane with significant impacts on the Boston area throughout the day on Sunday, Wentworth Institute of Technology is moving all ceremonies originally scheduled for Sunday August 22nd, now to Saturday, August 21st.

Officials have determined that shifting ceremonies to Saturday is the best course of action to prevent outright cancellation of the events, and to avoid putting guests in harm’s way.

The ceremonies will take place as follows in the tent on the Quad:

  • The 10:00 a.m. School of Engineering Ceremony will move to Saturday, August 21 at 1:00 p.m.

  • The 3:00 p.m. Commencement for the Schools of Architecture and Design, Computing and Data Science and Management will move to Saturday, August 21 at 4:00 p.m.

  • Additional Ceremony – for anyone who cannot attend on Saturday, a ceremony will be hosted on Monday, August 23rd at 6:00 p.m. in Watson Hall

All tickets will be honored for the rescheduled ceremonies, and an adjusted schedule for arrival to students and guests will be sent via email later today. The ceremonies will be available on Wentworth’s livestream for anyone who cannot attend in person.
