"In my role as an educator, I strive to empower the students; by creating opportunities to contribute to, and have agency in, the discourse. If we can find ways to engage in the students' lived experiences, embrace them and expand them within the context of a course, then it makes the learning experience more meaningful and relevant to their trajectory. I find joy in the process of discovering student's interests, developing their ideas, and discovering new ways in which we can learn. It is through the exchange of experiences, we understand new points of view, and develop new forms of knowledge."
