Quarantine Protocol

Students who have not tested positive for COVID-19 but who are identified as a close contact to someone who has tested positive will be required to begin a quarantine protocol. Residential students will be placed into specifically designated COVID-19 quarantine spaces on campus that provide students with private rooms. The University’s COVID-19 Contact Tracing and Case Management Team ensures that students receive meals, other needs, and conducts daily check-ins with students. Off-campus students and commuting students will be required to quarantine in their apartment/home. The University’s COVID-19 Contact Tracing and Case Management Team will conduct daily check-ins with these students as well.

The current protocol requires students to quarantine for ten days, with release from quarantine on Day 11, provided the student first receives a negative test result on Day 8, from the last date of exposure to the infected person. Students should only leave the quarantine space when instructed by Wentworth’s COVID-19 Team.

Students who have not tested positive for COVID-19 but who experience COVID-19 symptoms will be required to quarantine and to consult with Optum Student Health Services or their own medical provider. These students should remain in quarantine until they receive and share with Wentworth documentation indicating they are cleared to return to campus.

The quarantine protocol is subject to change based on evolving guidelines by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and the Boston Public Health Commission. Any changes will be communicated to the community.
