Spring 2025 New Student Dates & Deadlines
Use the list below to keep track of tasks you need to complete before your arrival on campus. All dates are subject to change and will be updated throughout the fall and winter. Please be sure to check your admitted student portal and Wentworth email throughout the fall and winter for the most up-to-date information.
December 2024
-
December 6 - Spring Semester E-Bill Available on or before this date
Spring Semester E-Bills will be available 3-5 business days after you deposit. Wentworth does not mail paper bills, so please follow these steps to view the bill:
- Log onto myWentworth
- Click the Student Accounts tile
- Review the semester's charges and anticipated credits
-
December 6 - Health Insurance Waiver Available on or before this date
Health Insurance Waivers will be available 3-5 business days after you deposit.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires that all students (undergraduate, graduate, and Co-op) who are enrolled as three-quarter time or more credits be covered by the student health insurance plan or a health insurance plan with comparable coverage. Wentworth automatically adds the charge for a Student Health Insurance Plan to the EBill of every student.
The student health insurance charge can be waived if you have adequate coverage as outlined by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, but you must take action to waive it. Health insurance and waiver information can be found on the Student Accounts Office website.
Students who are not covered by a family plan must enroll in the Student Health Insurance Program.
Students who have not waived or enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Program by the semester’s due date may incur late payment fees and have a hold on their student account that will prevent them from moving into campus housing.
-
December 6 - Deadline to submit Housing Application/Agreement (Undergraduate Students)
Students will receive the agreement via email and can access it through their admitted student portal.
-
December 10 - Deadline to submit writing sample (Undergraduate Students Only)
English Placement Requirement:
New Wentworth students take the English placement survey to determine which English sequence best matches their needs. The survey has two parts: an essay and a series of questions about your writing experience. You will take the survey on your own schedule, but you must complete it before December 19, 2024. You should plan to spend about 90 minutes on the survey. You can take the English survey by following the link in your new student portal. After you submit your survey, it will be reviewed by faculty who will place you in an English course.
For any questions regarding the writing sample, please reach out to Juval Racelis at racelisj@wit.edu or 617-989-4696.
-
December 10 - Deadline to submit math placement (Undergraduate Students Only)
All students must complete the math placement exam, which can be accessed through the new student portal.
-
December 16 - Deadline to submit Housing Application/Agreement (Graduate Students)
Students will receive the agreement via email and can access it through the myHousing portal.
-
December 31 - Immunization records due
Students will receive instructions via email to upload state-required immunization records to the CastleBranch system. See additional details about submitting your records.
Graduate students who are 30 years or older or in a fully remote program do not need to submit immunization records.
-
December 31 - Vector Solutions (undergraduates only)
At Wentworth, we believe in the importance of creating a safe and healthy environment for all our community members. To that end, we have partnered with Vector Solutions to provide trainings that will help us all be informed on topics vital to achieving our goal.
Completion of your Vector Solutions courses is mandatory for all incoming students. If you have difficulty logging in, check out the technical info at the bottom of this email. The education from these modules will help you to:
- Build motivation to intervene in and identify situations of bias and harm
- Increase help-seeking behavior and support identification of risky behaviors
- Reflect on your knowledge, attitudes, and personal experiences
Click here to begin. You will need your WIT username to access the courses. Please ensure that you have completed all sections by December 31st. Note, the checklist item will update once all three sections (Alcohol and Other Drugs; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Students; Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates) have been completed.
January 2025
-
January 2 - Final college transcripts due
Official transcripts may be sent by your college via a secure document system or mailed to Wentworth Admissions:
Wentworth Institute of Technology
Office of Admissions
550 Huntington Avenue
Boston, MA 02115 -
January 2- ID photo due
You can submit your photo by clicking on the Submit ID Photo tile in the myWentworth App.
-
January 5 - New Student Move In
New students who are living on campus will move in on January 5. You will receive your move-in time from our Housing and Residential Education office via email.
Please check your E-Bill to ensure it is paid in full, on a payment plan and/or covered by alternative resources by the August 1 due date. Students with a hold will not be permitted to move on campus. A balance due hold will be placed on a student’s account anytime there is a balance owed. A balance due hold prevents a student from moving into housing, registering for classes, viewing grades, and receiving a transcript.
-
January 6 - New Student Orientation
All new transfer and graduate students participate in this one-day in-person introduction to Wentworth resources and opportunities.
-
January 7 - First Day of Class
Please visit our Academic Calendar for a full overview of the semester.
-
January 7 - Academic integrity workshop opens
Through the Academic Integrity Workshop, students will learn how to avoid plagiarism in all courses in the span of a few weeks via our online learning platform, Brightspace. Access Brightspace and log in using your Wentworth email address as your username and your email password for the password. You will see the Academic Integrity program listed under the "My Courses" section of your page, along with other virtual programs that you will need to complete this summer. The workshop is broken down into three sections: Policy, an overview of Wentworth's Academic Honesty Policy Quotation, avoid intentional and accidental plagiarism Citation, and proper attribution of source material.
The workshop is due March 14, and is designed to take a month to complete if done at 2 hours per week. Following completion, students will receive feedback from Wentworth professors on their work.
