Wentworth Faculty Showcase Innovations in AI at Liberal Arts Symposium

Wentworth Institute of Technology faculty were prominently featured at the AI and the Liberal Arts Symposium at Connecticut College over the weekend, sharing their expertise on the university's innovative, student-centered approach to AI. 

Four members of the School of Sciences and Humanities demonstrated how Wentworth is thoughtfully integrating artificial intelligence across the disciplines, presenting as part of the closing plenary, “Disciplinary Diversity in AI Integration: A Multi-Perspective Approach to Liberal Arts Pedagogy.” 

  • Professor Aroni Kabita Porna highlighted her creative approach in Economics, where she uses AI tools to develop engaging, hands-on learning materials
  • Professor Ella Howard shared effective assignments designed to teach students how to use generative AI thoughtfully and efficiently to improve their research workflow
  • Professor Juval V. Racelis offered expert guidance on the future of writing instruction in the age of generative AI
  • School of Sciences and Humanities Dean Thaddeus Guldbrandsen discussed Wentworth's administrative approach, emphasizing a framework grounded in respect for faculty and students that supports a rich, AI-infused learning environment
