For more than a century, Wentworth graduates have shared a unique bond—a connection forged in studios, labs, and co-op sites. Today, that network is evolving to meet the needs of a modern workforce and a growing university.

With that goal in mind, Wentworth Institute of Technology has announced the launch of the reimagined Wentworth Alumni Association (WAA). While the name remains a familiar hallmark of the university’s history, the organization behind it has been fundamentally transformed.

Longtime graduates may recall the WAA as a separate, independent nonprofit organization, one that was ultimately dissolved in June. However, to preserve the identity of the group while expanding its capabilities, the university has officially integrated the WAA into the Office of Lifetime Engagement.

This shift moves alumni engagement from an external function to an internal strategic priority, directly aligned with the Wentworth’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan.

“This transition is about more than just organizational structure. It’s about unlocking the full potential of our alumni network,” said Jennifer Daigle, Director of Lifetime Engagement.

Daigle asserts that by reimagining the WAA within the university, Wentworth is positioning alumni not just as graduates, but as vital partners in Wentworth’s future.

“We are building a culture of connection that supports alumni at every stage of their careers while fueling the next generation of innovators,” she said.

What’s New

The new WAA builds upon past efforts and is positioned as a high-impact partner for the 40,000+ alumni community, strengthened by full support from the Division of University Advancement.

Key differences include:

  • Focus on Industry & Career: Moving beyond social gatherings, the new WAA prioritizes professional growth, "Next Generation Partnerships," and intergenerational mentorship
  • Direct University Access: As an internal entity, the WAA now has a direct line to university leadership, ensuring alumni voices influence institutional goals
  • Inclusive Governance: The new structure is led by a diverse Executive Committee representing various decades and industries

“We see the WAA becoming a hub where alumni can find not just nostalgia, but tangible value—whether that is finding a mentor, hiring a co-op student, or reconnecting with old friends,” Daigle added.

Meet the New Leadership

To guide this new chapter, the WAA has appointed its inaugural Executive Committee. This group of dedicated volunteers represents the breadth of the Wentworth experience, from recent graduates to seasoned industry leaders in architecture, engineering, business, and technology.

Looking Ahead

As the WAA enters this integration phase, the goal is simple: to turn a vast network of graduates into an active, engaged community.

"Wentworth is full of unapologetic builders, dreamers, and doers,” said Aubin. “I hope to bring that same tenacity to our alumni community—fostering connection, mentorship, and a shared commitment to building what’s next. Together, we can bridge the gap between Alumni and current students, giving the next generation the support and inspiration they need to thrive.”
