Math Booster Courses

  • What are math booster courses?

Math booster courses are our commitment to you realizing your potential at Wentworth. During the summer, we will offer math booster courses to students interested in improving their math skills and abilities, so they are fully prepared to start the first-year math course required for their intended major.

  • When are the math booster courses?

All math booster courses as follows. These offering are subject to change based on interest and enrollment.

    Booster Level 1 ( June 29 to August 10):

    • Online Asynchronous with an optional live problem session on Zoom on Fridays from 9 - 10am

    Booster Level 2 ( June 29 to August 10):

    • Online Synchronous section Mondays and Wednesdays 7:00 - 8:50 pm
    • Online Asynchronous ( no schedule meeting times)

    Booster Level 3 ( June 29 to August 10):

    • Online Synchronous section Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00 - 8:50 pm
    • Online Asynchronous ( no schedule meeting times)
  • Can I take more than one math booster course?

No, you may only take one math booster course.

  • Are the booster courses on-campus, online, hybrid, or something else?

    Booster Level 1 ( June 29 to August 10):

    • Online Asynchronous with an optional live problem session on Zoom on Fridays from 9 - 10am

    Booster Level 2 ( June 29 to August 10):

    • Online Synchronous section Mondays and Wednesdays 7:00 - 8:50 pm
    • Online Asynchronous ( no schedule meeting times)

    Booster Level 3 ( June 29 to August 10):

    • Online Synchronous section Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00 - 8:50 pm
    • Online Asynchronous ( no schedule meeting times)
  • I am interested in an online booster course. What is the difference between the synchronous and asynchronous options?

Synchronous courses mean that the courses will include meetings at a specific date and time, so they typically contain more scheduled opportunities to connect with your instructor and classmates. Asynchronous courses do not require regular meetings, but your instructor may schedule optional meetings or opportunities to connect. Asynchronous does NOT mean self-paced; you will still have a course schedule and due dates.

  • Which booster course should I take, depending on my intended major?

Three (3) math booster courses are available:

    • Math Booster Level 1 will prepare students for MATH-1500 Precalculus.
    • Math Booster Level 2 will prepare students for MATH-1600 Intro to Calculus.
    • Math Booster Level 3 will prepare students for MATH-1776 Calculus 1A.

  • Can I change my booster modality at any point?

You may request to change your booster modality via math@wit.edu for approval.
