Majid Vaseghi
Bio
Dr. Majid Vaseghi is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering program at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He earned his Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. His teaching and research interests span manufacturing processes, additive manufacturing, materials science, and capstone design.

Dr. Vaseghi has published multiple peer-reviewed papers on nanocomposite materials and additive manufacturing processes and has been involved in initiatives supported by the School of Engineering KEEN Mini-Grant. His current work aims to integrate modern manufacturing technologies and computational tools into undergraduate engineering education to foster innovation, teamwork, and design thinking.
Research Interests
Dr. Vaseghi’s research focuses on the mechanical and structural behavior of advanced materials and composites, including bioactive glasses and biopolymers, explored through molecular dynamics simulations and computational modeling. He is also active in the development of project-based learning initiatives, emphasizing hands-on experiences in design, fabrication, and testing to enhance student learning outcomes.
