Housing Selection Process 

Fall 2020, Spring 2021, and Summer 2021

Looking to live on campus for Fall 2020? Follow this process to live on campus with us:

  • Step 1: Complete your intention form
  • Step 2: Complete your housing agreement
  • Step 3: Participate in a housing selection process


Step 1: Inform the Office of Housing and Residential Life of your intention to live on campus

Among the many challenges we are all facing right now, financial concerns are at the forefront for many of our students and families. Therefore, at this time, we are replacing the need to submit a housing down-payment with the submission of a housing intention form for the Fall/Spring/Summer 2020 -2021 academic yearRead below for important details: 

The down-payment process has always been designed to indicate interest in participating in the selection process. In lieu of the down-payment, we are asking that you complete this intention form to indicate your interest in participating in housing selection for the 2020-2021 academic year. Our hope is that this will help to ease the financial challenges you and your family may be facing at this time.

In order to participate in the housing selection process, the form must be completed by Tuesday, March 24th by 9:00amStudents who submit this form after the deadline may still have the opportunity to live on campus, but may not have the opportunity to participate in housing selection.

Already submitted a down-payment?: Students who have already submitted a housing down-payment will be refunded their payment directly to their original payment method. Students who already submitted a down-payment and intend to participate in housing selection NEED TO complete the intention form to ensure they are given access to the housing agreement. For questions about down-payment refunds, please contact the Student Service Center at ssc@wit.edu or 617-989-4020.

Step 2. Complete your housing agreement:

After students complete their intention form, a housing agreement will be made available via their Symplicity Residence account. Students will receive an email notification when the agreement is ready for completion.  

Housing agreements will open on Monday, March 23rd, and must be completed by Friday, March 27th by 9:00am in order to participate in the selection process. 

Step 3. Select your housing or get placed into an assignment

Please see below for two selection processes that are available. The intention form and housing agreement submission deadline are the same for both two-semester and three-semester housing.

  • THREE-SEMESTER HOUSING*: Fall 2020, Spring 2021 and Summer 2021 
    • Selection DatesMonday, March 30th and Tuesday, March 31st, 2020 
      • Selection Times Issued on Friday, March 27th, 2020
    • Students who are interested in partaking in the three-semester housing process: 
      • must be current sophomore or junior students elevating to junior or senior status. Current first-year students do not qualify for three-semester housing. 
      • will be able to indicate interest in three-semester housing on housing agreements sent via email in March.
      • should understand that space is limited and not all students interested in three-semester housing will be able to select a three-semester space. Students who are not able to select a three-semester space will be added to the two-semester housing selection process and generated a new selection time based on their class status. 
      • should know that if successful in selecting a three-semester space, students will need to complete an updated housing agreement reflecting the terms of the three-semester program.
  • TWO-SEMESTER HOUSING: Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 
    • Selection DatesFriday, April 3rd, Monday, April 6th, and Tuesday, April 7th, 2020
      • Selection Times Issued on Wednesday, April 1st, 2020

  • Contact the Housing Office with questions:
  • No longer planning to live on campus?
    • If a student does not intend to live on campus and wishes to cancel their assignment for Fall 2020, students should visit our forms section to complete a housing and meal plan cancellation form.
    • First-Year and Sophomore students are required to live on campus as per our Residency Requirement.
