Wentworth Institute of Technology's Leadership in the Built Environment (LBE) Academy has successfully concluded another impactful five-week professional development session.
The program, designed for women leaders and allies in fields such as construction, engineering, facilities management, real estate, architecture, and infrastructure, focuses on enhancing leadership skills, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, and building strategic value.
This year's academy featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Wentworth Board of Trustees Chair Rose Conti, ’09, ’12; Trustee Yanel de Angel, Hon. ’22; Trustee Cyndee Hoagland; Sharon Jozokos, ’93; Desiree Patrice, ’98, ’17; and Wentworth Assistant Professor Sharon Brown, Construction Management.
Participants benefited from curated content, experiential learning labs, and a self-identified leadership challenge project, all aimed at building a senior leader persona and expanding professional networks.
Notably, a significant portion of this year's cohort – a third – were alumni of the LBE Academy, highlighting the program's lasting impact and the continued engagement of its graduates.
The program is led by Faculty Directors Susan Duffy, Ph.D, Associate Provost, Transformational Learning and Cindy Stevens, Ph.D, Director of Project Management, Accreditation Manager, and Professor of Management. It is offered through Workforce Development and Professional Education at Wentworth.
