As the fiscal year draws to a close this June, it provides a timely opportunity to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our dedicated faculty. Across Wentworth's five academic schools, our educators and researchers have consistently advanced their fields through influential scholarship, innovative teaching, and dedicated service.  

Wentworth Institute of Technology has earned the prestigious title of a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE), a designation awarded by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). 

CJ McLaughlin does not have a traditional 9-5 job. As a professional NASCAR driver, his career path is fueled by passion, perseverance, and the practical skills honed during his time at Wentworth Institute of Technology.  

For McLaughlin, the decision to attend Wentworth was influenced by family connections—his uncle and stepfather are also alumni—and the university's renowned co-op program.

For Electromechanical Engineering student Maggie McCann, the magic of Walt Disney World isn't just about fairy tales and fantasy; it’s about the intricate engineering that brings those worlds to life. During her Spring 2025 co-op, McCann went behind the scenes as a Show Mechanical Engineering Intern, contributing to one of the parks' most iconic features: Audio-Animatronic figures. 

This morning, a Wentworth Institute of Technology student might be helping to swap out anesthesia machines in a Massachusetts General Hospital operating room. Another could be redesigning the user interface for a global financial trading application at State Street. A third is potentially running tests on the next best-selling air fryer for SharkNinja. 

Stephanie Crepeau, a 2017 Construction Management graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology, is not just building structures; she's building a reputation as a dynamic leader in a demanding industry.

Wentworth Institute of Technology is taking innovative steps to make STEM majors more accessible by introducing a new foundational math course, as recently reported by Inside Higher Ed. 

Relocating from Connecticut, Kevin Banahan found Boston’s cityscapes to be the perfect backdrop for pursuing his undergraduate education at Wentworth Institute of Technology. The programs were interesting, the people were inspiring, and the location was close enough to home.

With his heart set on becoming an electrician, Billy Weinstein had a career path all figured out. His brother is an electrician. His father, his grandfather, and his great-grandfather are all retired electricians.

But then an opportunity from Wentworth Institute of Technology ignited a new spark in him, merging his interests, and changing the course of his career altogether.

The second-seeded Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team, making their second straight appearance in the Conference of New England's semifinal round, punched their ticket to their first-ever conference championship with a thrilling 15-11 win over the third-seeded Hartford Hawks on Wednesday night.

More than 145 attendees gathered for an inspiring evening of conversation and collaboration at the 19th Annual Muddy River Symposium, hosted by the Colleges of the Fenway Center for Sustainability and the Environment at Simmons University. The event showcased the innovative research of over 88 students from across the Colleges of the Fenway—including Wentworth Institute of Technology—and representing 35 distinct research groups, all focused on tackling pressing issues related to climate, sustainability, and environmental justice.
