What's New: Blackboard Ally
To assist with building accessibility into course materials, Wentworth purchased a tool called Ally that connects into the Blackboard Learning Management System to provide faculty feedback on how to make digital course content more accessible, provide tips for improvement, and allow users to download more accessible versions of the content. Ally also makes content available in multiple formats such as audio, ePub, more readable html, etc.
This Fall begins the implementation of Ally in Blackboard. A pilot of Ally with test course sites while partnering with the Accessible Digital Content Committee, LIT Advisory, Facilities and Equipment, and Wentworth Student Government will take place in the Spring. A more formal rollout with live course sites is planned for Summer/Fall. The goal of Ally will be a continuous progress to educate the Institute through communication, demonstrations, workshops and support.
