We’re chatting with Wentworth Institute of Technology seniors who are set to graduate on Aug. 22. They’re sharing, in their words, some of their fondest memories from the university and reflecting on what they’ve learned during their time here.

Follow along with our different student spotlights at wit.edu/news.

Here’s Roan Farsab, Electrical Engineering major:

“I knew Wentworth was the right decision during my orientation, seeing the culture and how welcoming it was from the orientation team.

A challenging existence was definitely when the pandemic hit, but i was able to overcome it through the support of the school’s faculty and staff.

I am the vice president of SWE (Society of Women Engineers), the president of ISWIT (Islamic Society of Wentworth) and a member of NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers). The diversity center was my favorite place on campus and I’ve felt welcomed every time I walk in, just like any other room in Wentworth.

I have completed my co-ops at California Polytechnic University in Pomona, McDonald Electrical Corp. and TG Gallagher. I learned a lot about construction, and it made realize that it is something that I want to do in the future.

A piece of advice I’d give to people come in is don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, whether it is joining a club or walking into a room where you don’t know anyone, talk to people and don’t be afraid to ask questions.”
