Celebrating the pivotal role of women in leadership and innovation, Wentworth Institute of Technology presents its 18th annual Women@Wentworth event on Thursday, March 27 at 8:00 AM in Watson Auditorium.
This breakfast recognizes the university’s students, faculty, alumnae, and community leaders on campus and beyond, in celebration of the positive influence of women in leadership.
Emceed by Wentworth Rose Conti, ’90, ’12, this year’s event will feature a celebratory buffet, an awards ceremony, and a panel of experts ready to discuss sustainability and innovations in the built environment. Conti—who is vice president of Interiors and Special Projects/Life Science at Lee Kennedy Company—is the first woman to serve as chair of Wentworth’s Board of Trustees. She is also the Women@Wentworth 2008 Woman of the Year awardee.
Panelists will include Wentworth’s Elizabeth Cooper, Meredith Elbaum, and the recipient of the 2025 Woman of the Year award, Farah Naz, who graduated from Wentworth in 2002 with a degree in Architectural Engineering Technology.
Cooper is the director of Wentworth’s undergraduate Architecture programs, and Elbaum is the executive director at Built Environment Plus and a member of Wentworth’s adjunct faculty. Naz is a global pioneer in the fields of climate change strategy and sustainable design. She is the author of Net Zero City and works to advance sustainability in the built environment.
The panel will be moderated by Shirine Boulos Anderson, a professor in the School of Architecture & Design, and practicing architect in the Boston area. She is also co-chair of the Global Design Initiative for Refugee Children, a nonprofit designing child-centric play and gathering spaces to support social cohesion, child development, and healing.
In addition to the panel, the event will include its quintessential awards ceremony and celebration, where student leaders will be recognized with the Leading Leopards awards and the Women@Wentworth scholarship award.
Exploring the themes of self-care, mindfulness, and transformation, the Women@Wentworth event will honor the hard work and dedication of women leaders, whose efforts are making a difference on campus and in the greater community.
