What's New: Blackboard Ally

To assist with building accessibility into course materials, Wentworth purchased a tool called Ally that connects into the Blackboard Learning Management System to provide faculty feedback on how to make digital course content more accessible, provide tips for improvement, and allow users to download more accessible versions of the content. Ally also makes content available in multiple formats such as audio, ePub, more readable html, etc.

A pilot of Ally with select course sites was conducted partnering with the Accessible Digital Content Committee, LIT Advisory, Facilities and Equipment, and Wentworth Student Government. A more formal rollout with live course in Blackboard began Spring 2020. The goal of Ally will be a continuous progress to educate the Institute through communication, demonstrations, workshops and support.
