Payam Bakhshi

Bio
Dr. Payam Bakhshi is a Professor of Construction Management in the School of Management at Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate construction courses and conducts research in high-performance, sustainable, and resilient construction practices; emerging construction technologies; infrastructure risk management; and project delivery and controls. He has led and contributed to numerous research initiatives and is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences. Before entering academia, Dr. Bakhshi spent several years working in the construction industry.
He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Management from Northeastern University, an M.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation Engineering from K. N. Toosi University of Technology, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Tehran.
Dr. Bakhshi is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and holds an Unrestricted Construction Supervisor License (CSL) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He also holds the CM-Lean certification from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and is a Phius Certified Builder (CPHB).
As faculty advisor to Wentworth’s National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Student Chapter, he actively fosters industry partnerships, mentors students, and expands experiential learning opportunities.
