Wentworth’s NAAB-accredited M.Arch Program Earns Federal STEM Designation and IPAL Approval
In the summer of 2020, The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) approved Wentworth’s IPAL proposal, or Integrated Path to Architecture Licensure, giving architecture students the ability to earn their licenses in less time by incorporating experience and examination into their education. In September, the university’s Architecture Program earned federal STEM designation, which provides a potential 24-month study extension for international STEM students, connects Wentworth more directly to the K-12 and community college STEM pipeline, and provides access to federal research grants for architecture faculty.
The STEM designation permits international students enrolled in the B.S.Arch and M.Arch degree program and studying on an F-1 visa to apply for the 24-month STEM Operational Practice Training (OPT) extension.
