Team #WentWorthIt Returns to Aid Student Emergency Fund
Our students faced many unexpected challenges this year, but their perseverance and commitment to their education has inspired us all. To honor their hard work, Team #WentWorthIt, a group of dedicated Wentworth community members, will lace up their sneakers and log miles to raise money and awareness for the Student Emergency Fund.
On June 5, the 16-member team will run or walk in their hometowns across New England, virtually cheering on each other. While they won’t be together, they have one goal: to support Wentworth’s Student Emergency Fund, which provides financial relief for students facing unforeseen challenges. The Fund offers modest grants to students who need assistance with expenses such as money for groceries, medical co-pays, books, supplies and transportation costs.
Team #WentWorthIt was founded in 2016 when a group of students, faculty and staff joined together to raise money for the Student Emergency Fund and run 200 miles in the Cape Cod Ragnar Relay.
Today, the team has been re-imagined, building upon its remarkable fundraising success and expanding the number of community members running in support of students. Over six years, Team #WentWorthIt has raised more than $82,000 for the Student Emergency Fund.
