The Wentworth Institute of Technology Associate of Applied Science in Engineering Technology combines up to 24 credits earned through your apprenticeship training with 36 credits of academic coursework to prepare you for advancement in technical fields.

Transfer credits from your associate degree courses, plus professional, apprenticeship, and/or military experience are all considered.

Online learning at Wentworth provides a flexible and accessible educational experience, allowing students to engage with coursework, faculty, and peers from anywhere in the world. This model leverages a digital platform to deliver high-quality collaborative, faculty-led opportunities, accommodating those who need to balance their studies with other professional or personal commitments.
Time Commitment
5 Fall & Spring Semesters | 2.5 Years
Online classes are delivered either asynchronously or meet one to two evenings per week with additional coursework assigned to be completed outside of the classroom. Courses are typically 15-weeks long and are offered in the Fall and Spring semesters.
Course Schedule
This program is delivered in a cohort model. Students commit to completing courses in the sequence below with their cohort at the time that they are offered, as there is no guarantee when a missed course will be available again. Schedules and required courses are subject to change.

Wentworth's Associates of Applied Science in Engineering Technology is a part-time online associates degree program designed for working professionals who are participating in, or have completed, an approved technical apprentice program led by a Wentworth partner organization.
Approved Apprenticeship Programs
The following apprenticeship curriculums have been approved for 24 transfer credits towards the Associates of Applied Science in Engineering Technology
- International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 103 Electrical Construction and Telecommunications Apprenticeship
- National Elevator Industry Education Program (NEIEP)
- Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc. Electrician and Telecommunication Technician Apprenticeship
Eligibility
The apprenticeship program must be completed prior to receiving the 24 required technical elective credits that are required to graduate. Certificate of Completion Date will be submitted on your behalf of your organization.

Tuition
This program is eligible for a reduced, online part-time, cost-per-credit of $595. More information about the total cost of attending Wentworth can be found on the Tuition & Costs page.
Apprenticeship credits can result in a savings of approximately $14K towards your degree, based on the 24/25 cost-pre-credit rate. Students may also transfer in up to 6 credits from prior learning, resulting in an additional $3.5K in savings.
