Wentworth made significant leaps in a few different categories as part of this year's U.S. News and World Report rankings

Wentworth Institute of Technology has again ranked highly on several U.S. and World Report college rankings lists, which were publicly released today. Notable climbs were made in the categories of Undergraduate Engineering Programs and Best Value Schools.

In the category of “Best Value Schools – Regional Universities (North)” Wentworth moves up from #71 last year to #44 this year. For this category, U.S. News takes into account a school's academic quality and the 2023-2024 net cost of attendance for an out-of-state student who received the average level of need-based financial aid.

“The higher the quality of the program and the lower the cost, the better the deal,” reads the methodology. “Only schools ranked in or near the top half of their categories are included because U.S. News considers the most significant values to be among colleges that are above average academically.”

Wentworth also saw a significant improvement in the national category of top “Undergraduate Engineering Programs (No Doctorate)” moving from #58 last year to #37 this year. Additionally, the university moved from #38 for “Best Colleges for Veterans – Regional Universities (North)” last year to #12 this year.

Other rankings by the publication for 2025 include:

  • #35 in Overall Rank – Regional Universities (North)

  • #96 in Top Performers on Social Mobility – Regional Universities (North)

  • #307 in Undergraduate Computer Science Programs

The rankings news from U.S. News and World Report follows other recent recognition from Wentworth in publications including the Wall St. Journal and Forbes
