"I'm proud to be a woman in 2021 because together we are showing our daughters, sisters, students, friends and family that what was once limiting is now limitless."

What courses do you teach?
I teach English as a Second Language I and II, English Language Skills and English I.

How have your interests, research, or experience led you to your field?
I come from a family of teachers, and I have always felt that being an educator is the most honorable profession, and for me, a labor of love. During my undergraduate studies at Emerson College, I volunteered at the Boston Public Library leading a conversation group for non-native speakers. At the end of the first session, I knew that teaching would be my career path. My interests lie in second language acquisition, second language pedagogy, retention studies and cross-cultural communication.

Why are you proud to be a woman in 2021?
I'm proud to be a woman in 2021 because together we are showing our daughters, sisters, students, friends and family that what was once limiting is now limitless.

Describe one exciting thing that is happening in your classroom.
My English as a Second Language II students have been working on individual video projects on sustainability around the world in collaboration with the Colleges of the Fenway Center for Sustainability and fellow Professor Cynthia Williams. This is exciting for me as a professor, as I always seek to delve into collaborative projects that are relative and impactful.

What is one interesting fact about you?
I am a Soprano II, and I used to sing opera arias in French and Italian competitively.
