Anthony Piermarini
Anthony J. Piermarini is an Associate Professor as well as a practicing architect in the Boston area. His academic interests lie in the intersection of social justice, media of representation, design research, and built material expression at any scale. He is also interested in interdisciplinary exchanges and community engagement through grounded practice. In addition to teaching, Anthony is the co-founder of Studio Luz Architects, Ltd. and BR-A-CE: Building Research-Architecture-Community Exchange, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to creating works that engage social, economic, and cultural issues facing communities. Their projects and practice have been widely recognized, receiving international honors including the Architectural Record Design Vanguard Award, Architectural League of New York Young Architect’s Award, a Progressive Architecture Award, Boston’s Design Biennial, multiple AIA Design Excellence Awards, and the Chicago Athenaeum’s American Architecture Award. Anthony has a MArch II degree from Harvard Graduate School of Design and a BArch from Cornell University.
