I’m proud to be part of the LGBTQIA+ community because it allows me to be authentic about who I am. As the song from the play/movie La Cage aux Folle notes, "I am who I am. I am my own special creation."

Briefly share what led you to the work you do now.

I have had three different careers in my life. My first career was in health and human services as a bilingual child protection social worker and advocate. My second career was in non-profit management developing and overseeing community-based social and recreational programs as well as local and national advocacy efforts on behalf of LGBTQIA+ youth. My third career was in homeless services and economic development at the state level which led me to workforce development. I enjoy working with individuals who are seeking to launch a career, boost their existing careers or switch industries. I also love working with companies to help them remain competitive which helps the local and regional economies. I came to Wentworth to help leverage its expertise to help companies and individuals become and/or remain successful.

Describe one thing that you are working on or is happening in your area that you are excited about.

I am excited about finally being able to think about my work strategically since the re-organization. I have an amazing person working with me now who is as passionate about this work as I am. I believe we're going to be able to create some legacy initiatives here at Wentworth that will make us all proud.

What is one interesting fact about you?

I used to raise and show basenjis (Google the breed). I also knit when I have time and love to travel to Spanish speaking countries.

Two sayings - 1) Treat everyone the way you want to be treated, and 2) Remember to get off the stage while they're still applauding. The first one I learned from my mother and the second one I learned for an esteemed professional mentor.
