As a high school student in California, Jesselle Yeomans found herself highly interested in the idea of computers and the ability to give back. She found both in the unique Computer Science and Society degree program at Wentworth Institute of Technology. 

“I like Boston, but I was also attracted to the smaller class sizes at Wentworth, knowing that I would have a lot of administration and staff to help me if I needed help,” said Yeomans. 

Wentworth Institute of Technology's Teaching and Learning Collaborative (TLC) staff member Joshua Luckens joined School of Sciences and Humanities Professor Gillian Tietz for a Halloween-themed murder mystery project. 

Construction Management students were required to use their skills in stoichiometry--the relationship between the weights of reactants and products before, during, and following chemical reactions--to sleuth out the culprit in a spooky edition of the "Chemistry of the Built Environment" class.

The first Applied Mathematics Reunion was a celebration of shared passion for the subject, bringing together former classmates, professors, and friends.  

In the atrium of Wentworth Institute of Technology's Center for Engineering, Innovation, and Sciences, recent graduates reflected on their time in the Applied Math program and shared what they’re up to now. 

It all began with one poignant question: Do you believe? 

For Wentworth Institute of Technology President Mark Thompson, the answer is a resounding yes. A belief in Wentworth students to change the world, and in alumni, friends, faculty, and staff to help provide the tools to do so.  

On September 20 and 21, Wentworth Institute of Technology and the National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR) University from India hosted a Collaboration Summit to foster partnership and innovation between the two institutions through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU). 

U.S. News & World Report announced their 2024 higher education rankings this morning and Wentworth Institute of Technology has once again been named to several “Best” category lists.

The latest rankings reflect a university that earned a place in the Best Value Schools, Best Regional Universities, Best Colleges for Veterans, and Top Performers on Social Mobility in the Northeast categories.  

Wentworth Institute of Technology students--new and returning--moved in this week with President Mark Thompson and Karyn Thompson, Dean of Students Jenn Kosses, Senior Vice President of Enrollment Management Kristin Tichenor, and Ruggles the Leopard among those lending a hand.

It was a monumental weekend of celebration as Wentworth Institute of Technology honored students and alumni—among others—in a series of events culminating in the 2023 Summer Commencement ceremonies.  

Ilyas Bhatti, who formally retired from his dean of the School of Management position at Wentworth Institute of Technology this summer, is currently serving on the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s Board of Directors.  

Wentworth Institute of Technology alum Katherine Mendez is the feature of a profile in Homes and Gardens that examines her unique work in architecture, calling her a “rising star” in the field. 

A team from the Mechanical Engineering Department at Wentworth Institute of Technology won an honorable mention during the recent Transportation Research Board’s Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) design competition.  

Wentworth Institute of Technology alumni have a reputation for making great strides in the world and some of the brightest examples will be honored this Saturday. 

The Wentworth Alumni Association (WAA) Awards Ceremony will feature eight alumni honored in a variety of categories, in addition to Class of 2023 students receiving awards for highest grade point average in their respective majors.  

The campus event that’s so nice, we’re doing it twice! 

Wentworth Institute of Technology will present Summer Commencement in two separate ceremonies on Sunday: 9 am and 2:30 pm.
