Wentworth Students Honored During Women in Construction Week

A number of alumni and women currently enrolled in Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Construction Management program have been honored in recent days as part of Women in Construction Week. 

Abigail Trainor ’22 received the Young Achiever Award at the AGC-MA BWiC Inspire Awards on March 9. Trainor is the president of Wentworth’s CM Club and has served as a peer tutor since her first year. She is also an active participant in the CM Club Homework Hangout tutoring sessions, which offer tutoring to all CM students each week.  

On March 3, the Women in Construction Week Breakfast Social was held in Beatty Hall. Organized by the CM Club, the event played host to students, faculty, and special industry guests.

Meanwhile, the CM Club is in the middle of highlighting women at Wentworth as part of Women’s History Month. Student spotlights can be found on their LinkedIn page.

Additionally, Samantha Webb ’18 earned the BWiC Rising Star of the Year Award. 

And Serina Medeiros ’21, a project manager with BOND, was featured this week in a video by the building construction company.  

“I would like to see more women, diversity, and young people in the construction industry. I think there are a lot of opportunities out there that people don’t take advantage of,” Medeiros said in the video.

Timberline Construction conducted a Q&A with Assistant Project Manager Alex Kielty '21 about her co-op experience.

And Haylee Bacik, Construction Management '14, Master of Science in Construction Management '18, was profiled by Gilbane Building Company. Bacik is a project manager for Northeast Support Operations.
