Mark Mixer
Bio
Mark Mixer is a Professor of Mathematics in the School of Computing and Data Science at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He teaches across the applied mathematics curriculum, with recent courses including precalculus, calculus, discrete mathematics, and abstract algebra.
His research spans discrete geometry, combinatorics, and combinatorial and finite group theory, with a particular focus on abstract polytopes. He also co-develops software for the GAP computer algebra system to facilitate computation with abstract polytopes and related structures.
Beyond his research, Mark has a strong interest in applied problem solving and optimization. He has developed algorithms for complex scheduling problems, explored applications in sports analytics, and created mathematical activities for both university and pre-college students.
