Michael Mozill
Michael Mozill has been an Associate Professor of Business Management at Wentworth Institute of Technology since January 2016. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Babson College’s MBA program in 2003. He taught courses in Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Babson from January 2007 to April 2014.
Born in Brooklyn, NY (but a life-long Red Sox fan), Michael received a BS in biology from the State University of New York at Albany in 1976. From 1977 to 1986, he worked in blood banking. He left the field in 1986 to begin his ‘entrepreneurial journey’, starting SBB Equipment Corporation, where he is the sole-employee in his business of selling and servicing automotive repair equipment and supplies. In 1994, he started a similar project: The Alvis Company, an online business. After a strong 34-year run, Michael closed these businesses on December 31, 2020. As he was winding down those businesses to dedicate more time and effort to teaching, he was the Northeast US sales representative for ModuLube, Modular Fast Lube Facilities; former Chief Marketing and Customer Service Officer for Worldwide Beauty Exchange, an online distributor of professional beauty industry products; and a Lecturer in Marketing for Babson Global, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Babson College. At Babson Global, Michael worked to develop the undergraduate curriculum and the Marketing Program for a new business college in the King Abdullah Economic City in Saudi Arabia.
Michael has taught four continents. He was voted Professor of the Year by Babson College’s 2012 Undergraduate Class. In 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020, Michael received the Award for Teaching Excellence from the Wentworth Undergraduate Business Management majors. In 2018 and 2019, Michael received the Award for Teaching Excellence from the Wentworth Undergraduate Computer Information Systems majors.
Michael and his wife, Debra, live in Wellesley, MA. They have been married since 1983 and they are the proud parents of two sons; Adam (a product sales representative for Dell in Milton, MA) and Brian (a sales development representative for eightfold.ai in San Francisco, CA). Adam’s wife, Kate, made Michael and Debra the proud grandparents of Delaney Ann Mozill in March 2019 and Wes Harvey Mozill in July 2021.
