Welcome back from Technology Services

January 9, 2018

Whether you've recently been hired by Wentworth or will graduate later this year, welcome to the Spring 2018 academic semester! We've collected news from across Technology Services to help you start the semester off right.

What's new this semester

VP & CIO Candidates on Campus We want you to meet the candidates for Wentworth's next Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Your feedback will help the hiring committee recommend a leader to continue moving our team and Wentworth's technology portfolio forward. Check your email for the latest time and location updates.

Laptop Program Updates Wentworth has initiated a review of our laptop vendors and requirements to continue moving the program forward in 2018. Several vendors will be on campus to showcase their hardware as part of this search. Stop in to view their offerings and share feedback.

New LConnect Preview First introduced in 2006, LConnect is about to receive its second major face lift. This version better highlights your role at Wentworth and delivers a responsive, mobile-friendly design. Preview the new version today to submit feedback or learn more about the project.

Refreshed Classroom Technology Over winter break, we installed new media equipment in the Cintiq Lab, Interior Design Studio, and Architecture Studios. These spaces now feature a combination of 80 inch HD displays and ultra short throw projection.

Curious what we're working on?

Student Information System Upgrade In December, project manager Darren Rose held a kick-off session for the upgrade to Banner 9. He outlined a phased project schedule and new features to expect from this upgrade. Visit the project website.

Personal and Department File Storage Thank you to the 120+ employees who attended our Store, Sync and Share your files with OneDrive awareness campaign over the past two semesters! Beginning Friday, January 26th we'll be migrating the P drives of full time employees who did not select an earlier date. Soon, we'll begin contacting departments to discuss migration of their shared I drive content.

Campus Messaging Enhancements We're partnered with Web & Digital Communications to research and recommend improvements to the campus messaging system, including better tailoring messages to your role and interests, and delivering content that is relevant, timely, and engaging. Watch for focus group invitations in the coming months.

Service Reminders

Printing Summary from Fall 2017 We hear great feedback on the convenient features of our Follow Me Printing service, but did you know it saves both our students and Wentworth money? Last semester,

64,822 pages were sent to the service, but were never printed by tapping an ID card. This would have cost students $20,621 and used 80% of a tree! Get started with this service.
