First Year Seminar
First Year Seminar introduces new students to personal and academic transition issues and success strategies. The class emphasizes the establishment of a connection to the Institute through multiple one-on-one meetings students have with their First Year Seminar Instructor. Seminar classes meet for 50 minutes per class and are held from the first week of class though the end of October or early November. During these class meetings, the instructors teach a variety of academic skills including Wentworth resources, Time Management, Academic Expectations, Academic Integrity, and Class Registration.
First Year Seminar is required for all first-year students. Transfer students may be exempted for the class if they have an Associate’s Degree or have satisfactorily completed a similar class at their previous institution.
