Some of the best examples of Wentworth’s ability to instill sustainability knowledge and skills can be found in the success of alumni who are at the cutting edge of the green economy.
Maria Aiolova, AET ’94, ARC ’96, envisions a world where cities are self-reliant ecosystems that accommodate nature. In 2006, Aiolova cofounded Terreform ONE, a nonprofit design firm in New York City that promotes green urban design in cities.

David Blittersdorf, MDE ’77, is the CEO of AllEarthRenewables, which makes, sells, and installs residential solar power systems. His ultimate goal is to lower costs associated with renewable energy, which can therefore compete with the cost of fossil fuels.
John Koopman, MPE ’83, is a Senior Engineering Technician at Proton Onsite, and is responsible for converting water into car-propelling hydrogen fuel. Koopman makes a good argument as to why hydrogen should be the fuel of the future.
