Investment Head Coach

  • Provide financial insights on funding and what it takes for teams to receive funding
  • Work with teams to determine their financial statements and how they can set themselves up to receive funding
  • Research other organizations and what criteria they use to fund successful startup ideas
  • Provide documentation/insight into differences of funding sources, e.g. angel/seed, round a/b, VC funding
  • Connect with individuals/firms in the space and learn how they coach/advise startups and set them up for success
  • Set up office hours/individual meetings with teams to get them started and circle back regularly

Design Thinker

  • Set up short and long term strategy on how to bring the design thinking process into Accelerate and strengthen exposure to all teams
  • Define what DT is and what it can do for teams in Accelerate, define phases it can be useful E.g. do all teams know what DT is and what it can do to improve their ideas/process?, map it to the business planning road map we provide to give context and relevance, what resources do already exist that we can draw from, e.g. Stanford bootcamp video, where can we make these accessible, create a corner in the space (middle room) where design thinking can live? Maybe move trend wall there too?
  • Set up office hours and/or connect with active teams to schedule meetings for problem definition/inspiration/brainstorming
  • Build up resources for Accelerate
  • Connect with external firms, who practice DT and learn from their process, how do they consult with groups/companies etc.
  • Document processes and visualize learning to put in the space

Assistance with Accelerate events as needed

Advertising Lead

  • Responsible for marketing and generating new marketing ideas
  • Check in with Coop (Alex) one week before each event and start:
  • Hanging posters (see location list – important are offices!!!)
  • Dropping A-Stand posters to physical plant 5 days before event, so they can place A-stands outside 3 days before event
  • Distributing table stands in cafeteria
  • Distribute flyers to strategic locations, e.g. campus center tables, cafeteria glass cube
  • Place poster tube A outside weather permitting 2 days before event (put flyers in tubes)
  • After an event:
  • First thing the day after the event is to collect the materials back together
  • Count table stands (did we loose any?)
  • Take posters off
  • Bring poster tube A back inside
  • New ideas – consider new marketing ideas, e.g. create poster barrel to be placed on quad
