Cybersecurity Student Discusses Plans to Defend U.S.
Jadon Watson, a sophomore studying Cybersecurity at Wentworth Institute of Technology, is the subject of a Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts feature story relating his plans to defend the United States against criminal computer system attacks.

Longtime Wentworth Educator Suresh-Menon Named School of Computing and Data Science Dean
Durga Suresh-Menon has been named the new dean of the School of Computing and Data Science at Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Currently the dean of Graduate Education, Suresh-Menon will assume her new role officially on June 1.
“I am honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside my colleagues again,” said Suresh-Menon, who formerly taught Wentworth classes related to computing. “In many ways, it feels like I’m coming home to the place where I taught for 18 years.”
New Grad Degrees in Data Science & Business Analytics
This year will bring forward new master’s degree programs at Wentworth Institute of Technology that are focused on two very in-demand fields: data science and business analytics.
An unprecedented amount of data is currently being produced within companies and organizations, and employers are clamoring for trained professionals who can interpret and make the most of that data.
Visual Showcase of Engineering and Computer Science Projects Now Online
A portable EKG machine, better designed parking garages, an automated aquaponic gardening system. A bridge collision prevention system, a grocery cart assistive arm, a house-mounted wind turbine generator, a UV light sanitizing cash register. All of these projects and more are courtesy of students in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

3D-Printing Recycling System, Brewery Design Project Among Projects on Display at Engineering and Computer Science Showcase
A 3D-printing recycling system, thermal regulation bathing device for handicapped patients, autonomous underwater vehicle to detect bleached coral, and a design project of a brewery in Waltham. These are just a few of the items available at the Wentworth senior showcase of College of Engineering and Computer Science.
With more than 170 student teams participating, the showcase took place on August 6 in Tansey Gymnasium.
